I've had this strap now for about 2 and a half months, and so far, I've switched it between three different totes I use regularly (one for the gym, one for an every day tote, and one that's more for work [laptop & files]). I've purchased a number of items that have long straps, either permanently attached to the product, or as an add-on. *This* particular strap is the best of all of them! [+] IT DOESN'T DIG INTO MY SHOULDER--even when the bags are stuffed to the brim and super heavy (I do this often, because so much stuff fits in these things! [+] IT COORDINATES WELL WITH OLDER STYLES--Have been a more active consultant several years ago (I'm more of a hobbyist now), I have products that are over 10 years old; this strap still works well with those products! [-] THE HARDWARE DOES NOT MATCH THE COLOR OF HARDWARE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. IAnother reviewer pointed this out, and it's definitely a bummer, especially if you're more of a matchy-matchy person like myself. Still, when I'm on the go, I don't notice the difference. What else I don't notice: my shoulder isn't in pain from carrying it all the stuff I'm lugging around. Since DIYing is so common these days, I know I can do things to make the hardware match...I just don't want to take the time. And because I already *know* this strap is so comfortable, I'm willing to overlook it because of how much more functional it makes my products. (That's why I didn't take off one star for the rating--IMO, it's too great a product to ding because of the hardware!)
